Yup, he's a belly sleeper. And every time he falls asleep this way I'm checking on him every minute. It's kind of ironic, because this is when he sleeps the BEST and longest, but I can't get anything done. Darn SIDS.

And want to know how I know this is his best way to sleep? He always wakes up like this:

It took him long enough to give me smiles.

  1. Sam is a total belly sleeper too. I'm thinking that's why we had such issues with sleeping (or not sleeping, ahem) when he was tiny. I was always swaddling him and sticking him in his back, never giving him a chance to roll over and be the kind of comfortable he likes to be. As soon as I let him sleep on his stomach- boom. 12 hours a night. I like to comfort myself with the fact that our parents were told that that was the safest way to put US to sleep, and a heckuva lot of us survived. ;)

    He's a cutie :)

  2. Awwww. I wouldn't worry too much. I don't think SIDS is caused by belly sleeping. They just try to blame it on something!
